What Jesus Said About Keeping His Word.
And because I tell you the truth, you do not believe Me. Which of you convince Me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do you not believe Me? He that is of God hears God’s Words: you therefore hear them not, because you are not of God. Then answered the Jews, and said unto Jesus, Say we not well that You are a Samaritan, and have a devil? Jesus answered, I have not a devil; but I honour My Father, and you do dishonour Me. And I seek not Mine own glory: there is one that seeks and judges. Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep My Word, he shall never see death.
Then said the Jews unto Jesus, Now we know that You have a devil. Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and You say, If a man keep My saying, he shall never taste of death. Are You greater than our father Abraham, who is dead? and the prophets are dead: whom do You make Yourself to be.?Jesus answered, If I honour Myself, My honour is nothing: it is My Father that honours Me; of whom you say, that He is your God: Yet you have not known Him; but I know Him: and if I should say, I know Him not, I shall be a liar like unto you: but I know Him, and keep His saying. John 8:45-55.
And Jesus said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand. Now the parable is this: The seed is the Word of God. Those by the way side are they that hear; then comes the devil, and takes away the Word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the Word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away. And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection. But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the Word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience. Luke 8:10-15.
And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted her voice, and said unto Jesus, Blessed is the womb that bare You, and the paps which You have sucked. But Jesus said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the Word of God, and keep it. Luke 11:27-28.
Jesus replied, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My Word. My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. Whoever does not love Me does not keep My words. The Word that you hear is not My own, but it is from the Father who sent Me. All this I have spoken to you while I am still with you. But the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have told you. John 14:24-26.
