All People Should Honour Jesus.

Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do: For what things soever He does, these also does the Son likewise. For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself does: and He will show Him greater works than these, that you may marvel.

For as the Father raises up the dead, and quickens them; even so the Son quickens whom He will. For the Father judges no man but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:  That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honours not the Son honours not the Father who has sent Him. John 5:19-23.

Recently, the Father showed me that all of the race of humanity should give reverence and respect to Jesus for two very distinct reasons. The first is that Jesus is the creator of all life.

This is what is stated in John 1:1-4.  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.

And secondly, because of accomplishing the redemption of mankind, which has been wrought through Jesus’s sinless life, His vicarious death and glorious resurrection every single person owes an outstanding debt of gratitude to Him.

Honour Comes From The Father.

I receive no honour from men.  But I know you, that you do not have the love of God in you. Jesus made it clear—He does not seek nor rely on the honour that comes from men.

Their lack of love for God was revealed in their rejection of the One whom the Father had sent. The test of true love for God is shown in a person’s response to Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

I have come in My Father’s name, and you receive Me not: if another shall come in his own name, him you will receive. How can you believe, who receive honour from one another, and seek not the honour that comes from God only?

Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuses you, even Moses, in whom you trust.  For had you believed Moses, you would have believed Me: for he wrote of Me.  But if you believe not his writings, how shall you believe My words? John 5:41-47.

Serving Jesus Brings The Honour Of The Father.

And there were certain Greeks among them that came up to worship at the feast: The same came therefore to Philip, who was of Bethsaida of Galilee and desired him, saying, Sir, we would see Jesus. Philip went to tell Andrew and they went to tell Jesus.

Jesus answered them, saying, The hour has come, that the Son of Man should be glorified. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abides alone:
But if it dies, it brings forth much fruit. He that loves his life shall lose it, and he that hates his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.

If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there shall also My servant be: if any anyone serves Me,  My Father will honour them. John 12 : 20-26.

Those who would walk in the footsteps of Jesus must obey His voice, and live by His example. This is the discipleship to which believers are called.

The literal meaning of the honour that the Father bestows on all those who serve Jesus Christ is that He will fix a valuation on that life, in which those who are servants of Jesus will be esteemed, considered precious in the eyes of the Father.

I am reminded of a word of the Lord in which He declared: “ I’ve brought you to the place and I’ve brought you up on a pathway, a pathway that is narrow, and a pathway that will get narrower still.  I have brought you upon a highway, the highway of Holiness, and I’m speaking unto you, into your lives, and into your hearts.

That you come to that place of understanding. That you come to that place of knowledge. That you come to that place where you obtain the revelation of who you are in my sight. To the world, you are nobody, but to me, you are precious in my sight.
