Parable of the Unforgiving Servant

How Many Times Is Forgiveness Required?

Matthew 18 : 21-35.

Then came Peter to Jesus, and said, Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? until seven times? Jesus said unto him, I say not unto you, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven. Therefore is the Kingdom of Heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants. And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, who owed him ten thousand talents. But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.

Compassion And Forgiveness.

The servant, therefore, fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all. Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt. But the same servant went out and found one of his fellow-servants, who owed him a hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that which you owe me. And his fellow servant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay you everything. Read More... “Parable of the Unforgiving Servant”

Parable of the Two Sons

Matthew 21 : 42-46.

But what do you think? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work today in my vineyard. He answered and said, I will not: but afterwards he repented, and went. And he came to the second and said likewise. And he answered and said, I  will go, sir: but he never went. Which of the two did the will of their father? They said unto Him, The first. Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the Kingdom of God before you. For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and you, when you had seen it, but would not repent afterwards, that you might believe him.

Parable of the Ten Virgins

Matthew 25 : 1-13.

Then shall the Kingdom of Heaven be likened unto ten virgins, who took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom? Now five of them were wise, but the other five were foolish. They that were foolish took their lamps, but took no oil with them: But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.

While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom comes; go you out to meet Him. Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. Now the foolish virgins said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there will not be enough for us and for you: but go you rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.

And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with Him to the marriage: and the door was shut. Afterwards came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. But He answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I  do not know you. Read More... “Parable of the Ten Virgins”

Assurance Of Asking In Prayer.

I Can Ask And Receive Good Things From The Father.

Matthew 7: 7-11

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For everyone that asks receives; and he that seeks shall find, and to him, that knocks it shall be opened. Or what man is there of you, whom if his son asks bread, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks a fish, will he give him a serpent? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father, which is in heaven, give good things to them that ask Him?

Luke 11 : 9-13.

“So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks, it will be opened. If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or, if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? Read More... “Assurance Of Asking In Prayer.”
