Disciples Are Salt And Light.

You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its savour, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men. You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.

Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a basket. Instead, they set it on a stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:13-16.

For everyone will be salted with fire. Salt is good, but if the salt loses its saltiness, with what will you season it? Have salt among yourselves, and be at peace with one another.”Mark 9:49-50.

Once again, Jesus spoke to the people and said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will never walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life.John 8:12.

Then Jesus told them, “For a little while longer, the Light will be among you. Walk while you have the Light, so that darkness will not overtake you. Read More... “Disciples Are Salt And Light.”

Disciples And Their Cross.

He that loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me: and he that love son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he that takes not his cross, and follows after Me, is not worthy of Me. He that finds his life shall lose it: and he that loses his life for My sake shall find it. Matthew 10:37-39.

Then said Jesus unto His disciples, If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.  For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for My sake shall find it. For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? For the Son of Man shall come in the glory of His Father with His angels; and then He shall reward every man according to his works.  Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of Man coming in His Kingdom. Matthew 16:24-28.

And when Jesus was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to Him, and asked Jesus, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life? Read More... “Disciples And Their Cross.”

Disciples And Servanthood.

The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord.  It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household? Matthew 10:24-25.

But Jesus called them unto him, and said, You know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them.  But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister;  And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant:  Even as the Son of Man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give His life a ransom for many. Matthew 20:25-28.

Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord has made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?  Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he comes shall find so doing.  Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods. Matthew 24:45-47.

And when Jesus had come to Capernaum: and being in the house He asked them, What was it that you disputed among yourselves by the way? Read More... “Disciples And Servanthood.”

Disciples And Prayer.

Prayer And The Name Of Jesus.

Truly, truly, I tell you, whoever believes on Me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto My Father.  And whatsoever you shall ask in My name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.  If you shall ask anything in My name, I will do it. John 14:12-14.

And in that day you shall ask Me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever you shall ask the Father in My name, He will give it you.  Hitherto have you asked nothing in My name: ask, and you shall receive, that your joy may be full. John 16: 23-24.

Prayer And Jesus’s Word.

I am the Vine, you are the branches: He that abides in Me, and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit: for without Me you can do nothing.  If a man abide not in Me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.  If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you shall ask what you will, and it shall be done unto you.  Read More... “Disciples And Prayer.”
