Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit. But Jesus answered them, My Father works hitherto, and I work. Therefore, the Jews sought more to kill Him because He not only had broken the sabbath but also said that God was His Father, making Himself equal with God. Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of Himself, but what he sees the Father do: for what things soever He does, these also does the Son likewise. For the Father loves the Son and shows Him all things that Himself does: and He will show Him greater works than these, that you may marvel For as the Father raises up the dead, and quickens them; even so the Son quickens whom He will. For the Father judges no man but has committed all judgement unto the Son: That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. Not everyone that will say unto Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that does the will of My Father Who is in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name? and in Your name, we have cast out devils? and in Your name, we have done many wonderful works? Then His mother and brothers came to Him and could not approach Him because of the crowd.
