Doing The Will Of The Father

Who Are Acknowledged By Jesus?

Matthew 12:46-50

While Jesus yet talked to the people, behold, His mother and His brethren stood without, desiring to speak with Him. Then one said unto Jesus, Behold, Your mother and Your brethren stand without, desiring to speak with You. But Jesus answered and said unto him that told him, Who is My mother? and who are My brethren? And Jesus stretched forth His hand toward His disciples, and said, Behold My mother and My brethren! For whosoever shall do the will of My Father which is in heaven, the same is My brother, and sister, and mother.

Who Are Those Who Enter Heaven?

Matthew 7 : 21-23.

Not everyone that will say unto Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the Kingdom of Heaven; but he that does the will of My Father Who is in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name? and in Your name, we have cast out devils? and in Your name, we have done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them,” I never knew you: depart from Me, you that work iniquity.”

Do Not Pray Like An Hypocrite

Matthew 6: 5,7.

And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Verily I say unto you; They have their reward. But when you pray, enter into your closet, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret shall reward you openly. And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

Matthew 23: 1-7.

Then Jesus spoke to the multitude, and to His disciples, Saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat: whatsoever they bid you to do observe,  but do not you after their works: for they say, and do not. For they bind heavy burdens that are grievous to be borne and lay them on men’s shoulders, but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers. But all their works they do so as to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries and enlarge the borders of their garments, And they love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues, And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi. Disciples Are Salt And Light

Believers Are Salt And Light.

Matthew 5:13-16.

You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its savour, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men. You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.

Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a basket. Instead, they set it on a stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Mark 9:49-50.

For everyone will be salted with fire. Salt is good, but if the salt loses its saltiness, with what will you season it? Have salt among yourselves, and be at peace with one another.”

Believers In Christ Have The Light Of Life.

John 8:12.

Once again, Jesus spoke to the people and said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will never walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life.

John 12:35-36.

Then Jesus told them, “For a little while longer, the Light will be among you. Read More... “Disciples Are Salt And Light”

Disciples And Their Cross

Jesus Must Be First.

Matthew 10:37-39.

He that loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me: and he that love son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he that takes not his cross, and follows after Me, is not worthy of Me. He that finds his life shall lose it: and he that loses his life for My sake shall find it.

Threefold Command.

Matthew 16:24-28.

Then said Jesus unto His disciples, If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.  For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for My sake shall find it.

For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? For the Son of Man shall come in the glory of His Father with His angels; and then He shall reward every man according to his works.  Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of Man coming in His Kingdom.
