For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Moreover, when you fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you; They have their reward. When you fast anoint your head, and wash your face; That you appear not unto men to fast, but unto your Father who sees in secret: and your Father, who sees in secret, shall reward you openly. Matthew 6 v 14-18..
Then came to Jesus the disciples of John, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast often, but Your disciples do not fast? Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then they shall fast. No man puts a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up takes from the garment, and the rent is made worse. Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine run out and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved. And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Be not you, therefore, like unto them: for your Father knows what things you have need of, even before you ask Him. After this manner, therefore, pray you Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be your name. Your Kingdom come, Your will be done in the earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For Yours is the Kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen. Matthew 6: 7-13
Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knows not what his lord does: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of My Father, I have made known unto you. You have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you and ordained you, that you should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever you shall ask of the Father in My name, He may give it to you. Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust corrupts, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Matthew 6: 19-21.
The Kingdom of Heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and in his joy, he went and sold all he had and bought that field. Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls. When he found one very precious pearl, he went away and sold all he had and bought it. Matthew 13:44-46.
And, behold, one came and said unto Jesus, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? And Jesus said unto him, Why do you call Me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if you would enter into life, keep the commandments. He said unto Jesus, Which? Jesus said, you shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not bear false witness, Honour your father and your mother: and, you shall love your neighbour as yourself. Judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you shall be judged: and with what measure you give out it shall be measured back to you again. And why do you behold the mote that is in your brother’s eye, but consider not the beam that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, Let me pull the mote out of your eye; and, behold, a beam is in your own eye? You hypocrite first cast out the beam out of your own eye, and then you shall see clearly to be able to cast out the mote out of your brother’s eye. Matthew 7 vs 1-5.
But love you your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and you shall be the children of the Highest: for He is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. Be you therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful. Judge not, and you shall not be judged: condemn not, and you shall not be condemned: forgive, and you shall be forgiven: Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom.
