What Did I Say About Hypocrisy?

You want to know what I said about hypocrisy? Let Me remind you. In Matthew 23:27–28, I said: “Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones… even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.”

I don’t just see your actions—I see your heart. You can fool others, but you can’t fool Me. In Matthew 6:1, I said: “Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.”

If your righteousness is just for show, that’s your reward—applause now, but no treasure in heaven. In Luke 12:1, I said: “Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.” Hypocrisy spreads like yeast. A little grows into a lot. If you don’t deal with it, it will take over.

Why Do My Words Matter? Why Should You Listen to Me? In John 12:49–50, I said: “I have not spoken of Myself; but the Father which sent Me, He gave Me a commandment, what I should say…”

And in Matthew 24:35, I said: “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but My words shall not pass away.”  So if you’re still asking, “What did You say about hypocrisy?”

Here’s My answer: – Don’t just look holy—be holy. – I see what’s inside. – Don’t serve to be seen. – Get rid of the leaven—before it takes over. Stop pretending. Come clean. And let Me change you from the inside out.
