What Did I Say About Backsliders-Those Who Turn Away?

You want to know what I said about those who turn back-who follow for a time, then fall away? Let Me remind you. In Luke 9:62, I said: “No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.” When you begin to follow Me, you are called to press forward. If you turn back-if your heart returns to the old life-you are no longer walking the path of the Kingdom.

In Matthew 10:22, I warned: “And ye shall be hated of all men for My name’s sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.” This walk requires endurance. Not just starting-but finishing. Salvation is not for those who begin only to give up-it is for those who endure to the end.

In John 6:66-67, many turned away from Me: “From that time many of His disciples went back, and walked no more with Him. Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away?” Even then, many turned back. I saw it. I felt it. I asked the twelve, Will you leave too? This question still stands for every heart today.

In Matthew 24:10-13, I spoke of the last days: “And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another… And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.” When sin increases, love grows cold. That’s how backsliding begins. But I told you plainly: salvation belongs to those who endure-who stay faithful even when it’s hard.

In Mark 8:38, I warned:”Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of Me and of My words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed…” If you turn away from Me out of shame or fear-if you deny Me-I will deny you before the Father.

Why Do My Words Matter? Why Should You Listen to Me? Because I spoke only what the Father commanded. In John 12:49-50, I said: “For I have not spoken of Myself; but the Father which sent Me, He gave Me a commandment… and I know that His commandment is life everlasting.” These are not empty warnings. They are eternal truth from the Father Himself.

And I told you in Matthew 24:35: “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but My words shall not pass away.” Everything you see will one day fade-but My words never will. They remain, for every generation.

So if you’re still asking, “What did You say about backsliding?” Here’s My answer: No one who looks back is fit for the Kingdom. Endure to the end-and you will be saved. Many walked away-but will you? When sin increases, hold on. Don’t let your love grow cold. Do not be ashamed of Me, and I will not be ashamed of you. Stay with Me. Finish with Me. Eternal life is not in the starting-it’s in the enduring.
