What Did I Say About Forgiveness?

You want to know what I said about forgiveness? Let Me remind you. In Matthew 6:14-15, I said: “For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive  Not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” Forgiving others is not optional. If you refuse to forgive, you will not be forgiven.

In Matthew 18:21-22, Peter asked how many times to forgive, and I answered:  “I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.”Forgiveness has no limit. If you follow Me, your heart must remain open-again and again. Then I gave a warning through a parable.

In Matthew 18:32-35, I said: “O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt… shouldest not thou also have had compassion…? So likewise shall My heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from  our hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.” You cannot receive mercy and refuse to give it. I forgave you everything. Now, you must forgive others.

In Luke 6:37, I said: “Forgive, and ye shall be forgiven.” This is the way of the Kingdom: mercy given, mercy received.

In Mark 11:25, I said: “And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.” Forgiveness is tied to prayer. Do not seek My Father’s help while holding bitterness in your heart.

On the cross, in Luke 23:34, I said: “Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.” Even while suffering, I chose forgiveness. That is your example. Why Do My Words Matter? Why Should You Listen to Me? Because I speak the words of the Father-and He is the source of life.

In John 12:49-50, I said: “For I have not spoken of Myself; but the Father which sent Me… gave Me a commandment… and I know that His commandment is life everlasting.” Forgiveness is not just kindness-it is a command tied to eternal life.

And in Matthew 24:35, I told you: “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but My words shall not pass away.” The pain others caused you may feel permanent. But My words are greater-and they will never fade. So if you’re still asking, “What did You say about forgiveness?”

Here’s My answer: Forgive-so you can be forgiven. Forgive again-and again. Do not hold back what I so freely gave you. Let go of bitterness. Release the debt. Even on the cross-I forgave. So must you.
