In John 17;6-8 Jesus declared.

“I have manifested Your name to the men whom You have given Me out of the world.  They were Yours, You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word.

Now they know that all things you have given me are from You.

For I have given to them the words which You have given Me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came forth from You; and they have believed that You sent Me.

When Jesus was tempted in the wilderness, He did not respond with human reasoning or ligic but with the written Word that proceeds from the mouth of God.

In doing so, Jesus revealed that true life—spiritual life—comes not from satisfying the flesh, but from obeying the Father’s voice.

The words of Jesus are the living utterances of His Father, which have to be trusted and obeyed without compromise.

Jesus is the perfect standard of a man on this earth, walking in a deep fellowship with the Father.

If we profess to be Jesus’ disciples, then we are called to live by the exact words that Jesus lived, the Father’s word must be our word.

To live apart from it is to live apart from God. But to live by it is to walk as sons—obedient, dependent, and victorious.

And if Jesus, the sinless Son, depended entirely on the Word of His Father, how much more must we cling to it with all our heart, our soul, our mind, and our strength.
