What Did I Say About Works?

You want to know what I said about works? Let Me remind you. In John 9:4, I said: “I must work the works of Him that sent Me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.”
There is urgency. The time to do the Father’s work is now-before the light fades.

In John 10:37-38, I said: “If I do not the works of My Father, believe Me not. But if I do, though ye believe not Me, believe the works…” The works I did were proof that the Father was in Me-and I in Him. They speak for themselves.

In John 14:12, I said: “He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto My Father.” Faith in Me doesn’t stop at belief-it results in action. And I’ve empowered you to carry on My mission.

In Matthew 5:16, I said: “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Your works are not to earn attention-they are to glorify the Father. Let them shine as proof of His presence in you.

In Matthew 7:21-23, I warned: “Not every one that saith unto Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of My Father which is in heaven… And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from Me, ye that work iniquity.” Not all works are good. If you work without obedience-without truly knowing Me-those works mean nothing.

Why Do My Words Matter? Why Should You Listen to Me? Because I came to do the Father’s works-and I call you to do the same.  In John 12:49-50, I said: “For I have not spoken of Myself; but the Father which sent Me… gave Me a commandment…and I know that His commandment is life everlasting.” The works I did were given to Me by the Father-and I now call you to walk in them too.

And in Matthew 24:35, I said: “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but My words shall not pass away.” Fame will fade. Praise will vanish. But the works done for My Father-the ones done in truth-will remain. So if you’re still asking, “What did You say about works?”

Here’s My answer: Work while it is day. Let your works reflect the Father. Believe in the works I did-they testify of Me. Those who believe in Me will do even greater works. Let your works glorify God-not yourself. But remember: works done without knowing Me are empty.
