The Parable Of The Wheat And The Tares (Weeds)

“I wanted to tell you a story…”The Kingdom of Heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field. But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed tares (weeds) among the wheat-and went away. When the wheat sprouted and formed heads, then the tares also appeared. The servants came and said, “Sir, didn’t you sow good seed in your field? Where then did the tares come from?”

He replied, “An enemy has done this.”The servants asked, “Do you want us to go and pull them up?””No,” he answered,”because while you’re pulling the tares, you might uproot the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First gather the tares and tie them in bundles to be burned. Then gather the wheat and bring it into My barn.”

(This story is found in Matthew 13:24-30, with the explanation in verses 36-43.)

“Let Me explain what this story means…” The one who sows the good seed is Me-the Son of Man. The field is the world. The good seed stands for the children of the Kingdom. The tares are the children of the wicked one. And the enemy who sowed them… is the devil. The harvest is the end of the world. And the reapers are the angels.

At the end of the age, the tares will be gathered first-tied and burned. The righteous will shine like the sun in the Kingdom of their Father. This is a warning- but also a comfort. Because I see the difference between the wheat and the weeds. Even when they grow side by side.

“My parables matter because they reveal the Kingdom.”

I didn’t speak these stories on My own. In John 12:49-50, I said: “For I have not spoken of Myself; but the Father which sent Me, He gave Me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. And I know that His commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto Me, so I speak.”

This story came from the Father-to show that judgment is coming, and the wheat will not be forgotten. And in Matthew 24:35, I said: “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but My words shall not pass away.” So stay faithful. Even if you feel surrounded. Because the harvest is coming-and I know who you are.
