What Jesus Said About Loving Him And Keeping His Word.
I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. Yet a little while and the world sees Me no more, but you see Me: because I live, you shall live also. On that day, you shall know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you. He that has My commandments and keeps them, he it is that loves Me: and he that loves Me shall be loved of My Father, and I will love him and will manifest Myself to him. Judas, not Iscariot, said unto Jesus, Lord, how is it that You will manifest Yourself unto us, but not unto the world? Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man loves Me, he will keep My words: and My Father will love him, and We will come unto him, and make Our abode with him. He that does not love Me does not keep My sayings: and the word that you hear is not Mine, but the Father’s Who sent Me. John 14 vs 18-24.
Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. Those by the way side are they that hear; then comes the devil, and takes away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away. And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection. But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience. Luke 8:11-15.
And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked. But Jesus said, Yes rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it. Luke 11:27-28.
Jesus answered I have not a devil; but I honour My Father, and you do dishonour Me. And I seek not Mine own glory: there is one that seeks and judges. Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keeps My saying, he shall never see death. Then said the Jews unto him, Now we know that You have a devil. Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and yey You say If a man keeps My saying, he shall never taste of death. Are You greater than our father Abraham, who is dead? And the prophets are dead: Who do You make Yourself out to be? John 8:49-53.
