And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. <strong>For God so loved the world<\/strong> that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.<strong> John 3;14-17.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>To Reveal The Father.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. John bore witness of Him and cried out, saying, \u201cThis was He of whom I said, \u2018He who comes after me is preferred before me, for He was before me.\u2019 And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, <strong>He has declared Him. John 1:14-18.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>To Fulfil Will Of The Father.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>And Jesus said to them, \u201cI am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst. But I said to you that you have seen Me and yet do not believe. All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out. For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, <strong>but the will of Him who sent Me.<\/strong> This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day. And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.\u201d <strong>John 6:35-40.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>To Fulfil Both The Law And The Prophets.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cDo not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. <strong>I did not come to destroy but to fulfill<\/strong>. For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. <strong>Matthew 5:17-18.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>But Jesus said to him, \u201cPut your sword in its place, for all who take the sword will perish by the sword. Or do you think that I cannot now pray to My Father, and He will provide Me with more than twelve legions of angels? How then could the Scriptures be fulfilled, that it must happen thus?\u201d In that hour Jesus said to the multitudes, \u201cHave you come out, as against a robber, with swords and clubs to take Me? I sat daily with you, teaching in the temple, and you did not seize Me. But all this was done that the <strong>Scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled<\/strong>.\u201d <strong>Matthew 26:52-56.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Jesus Came As The Lamb Of God.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, \u201c<strong>Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world<\/strong>! This is He of whom I said, \u2018After me comes a Man who is preferred before me, for He was before me.\u2019 I did not know Him; but that He should be revealed to Israel, therefore I came baptizing with water.\u201dAnd John bore witness, saying, \u201cI saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and He remained upon Him. I did not know Him, but He who sent me to baptize with water said to me, \u2018Upon whom you see the Spirit descending, and remaining on Him, this is He who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.\u2019 And I have seen and testified that this is the Son of God.\u201d <strong>John 1:29-34.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Jesus Came To Call Sinners To Repentance.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When Jesus heard that, He said to them, \u201cThose who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. But go and learn what this means: \u2018I desire mercy and not sacrifice.\u2019 For I did not come to call the righteous,<strong> but sinners, to repentance<\/strong>.\u201d<strong>Matthew 9:12-13.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Jesus Came As The Light To The World.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Then Jesus cried out and said, \u201cHe who believes in Me, believes not in Me but in Him who sent Me. And he who sees Me sees Him who sent Me. <strong>I have come as a light into the world<\/strong>, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness. And if anyone hears My words and does not believe, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world. <strong>John 12:44-47.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Jesus Came To Minister, Not To Be Ministered To.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>But Jesus called them to Himself and said, \u201cYou know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them. Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant.And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave just as the <strong>Son of Man did not come to be served<\/strong>, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.<strong>\u201dMatthew 20:25-28.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Jesus Came For The Lost Sheep Of Israel.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Then Jesus went out from there and departed to the region of Tyre and Sidon. And behold, a woman of Canaan came from that region and cried out to Him, saying, \u201cHave mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! My daughter is severely demon-possessed.\u201d But He answered her not a word.\u00a0And His disciples came and urged Him, saying, \u201cSend her away, for she cries out after us.\u201dBut He answered and said, \u201c<strong>I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel<\/strong>.\u201d<strong>Matthew 15:21-24.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Jesus Came To Save The Lost.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Take heed that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that in heaven their angels always see the face of My Father who is in heaven. <strong>For the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost<\/strong>. \u201cWhat do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them goes astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine and go to the mountains to seek the one that is straying? And if he should find it, assuredly, I say to you, he rejoices more over that sheep than over the ninety-nine that did not go astray. Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish.<strong> Matthew 18:10-14.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Jesus Came To Give Us Abundant Life.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Then Jesus said to them again, \u201cMost assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. All who ever came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. <strong>I have come that they may have life<\/strong>, and that they may have it more abundantly.<strong> John 10:7-10.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Jesus Came To Save The World.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Then Jesus cried out and said, \u201cHe who believes in Me, believes not in Me but in Him who sent Me. And he who sees Me sees Him who sent Me. I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness. And if anyone hears My words and does not believe, I do not judge him; for <strong>I did not come to judge the world but to save the world.<\/strong> He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him\u2014the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day. For I have not spoken on My own authority; but the Father who sent Me gave Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak. And I know that His command is everlasting life.
