The Life That Comes Forth From the Father.
Jesus said: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.“ (John 10:10). Every believer must come to understand that the life received through Jesus Christ is not merely an improved human life, nor simply the promise of life after death. It is the very life that proceeds from the Father Himself;
- This life is divine in its source.
- Heavenly in its nature.
- And eternal in its character.
Jesus Christ revealed this profound truth: “For as the Father hath life in Himself; so hath He given to the Son to have life in Himself.“ (John 5:26). Every created thing owes its existence to Him, yet the life that the Father gives through His Son is infinitely greater than natural life. It is His own eternal life imparted to those who are born of the Spirit.
Jesus declared: “Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” (John 3:3). The new birth is not the improvement of our old nature; it is the impartation of an entirely new life. As believers in Christ, we are born from above and receive the Father’s own life within our reborn spirit. We become alive unto God because His life now dwells in us.
The Life Of The Father Is Incorruptible.
This life is incorruptible because its source is incorruptible. It does not diminish, weaken, age, or decay. While everything in this world is subject to decline, the life that comes forth from the Father remains eternally full, fresh, and sufficient.
Because this life is the Father’s own life, it becomes the source of everything required for the believer’s walk with Almighty God. Spiritual understanding, righteousness, holiness, peace, joy, wisdom, endurance, strength, and love do not originate through human effort but flow from the life of Christ within. For this reason Jesus Christ said: “I am the vine, ye are the branches… for without Me ye can do nothing.” (John 15:5).
A branch does not strive to produce life; it simply abides in the vine. Likewise, as believers, we were never called to sustain the Christian life through our human effort or religious activity. The Christian life is the continual expression of Christ’s own life within those who remain in Him.
This is very important, as believers recognise the greatness of the life we have received; the less confidence we place in our own abilities. Faith rests, not in our human strength, but in the endless sufficiency of the Father’s life dwelling within.
Earthly possessions, favourable circumstances, or outward success never measure the abundance of life spoken of by Jesus Christ. It is measured by the unhindered expression of the Father’s life through His children. Because Christ lives within our lives as a believer:
- His peace remains in every storm of our lives.
- His joy endures through every difficulty that we may face.
- His strength is perfected in our weakness.
- His wisdom surpasses all of our human understanding.
- His love overcomes bitterness.
- His holiness transforms every surrendered area of our life.
This divine life renews the mind through the Word of God, strengthens the inner man by the Holy Spirit, produces spiritual fruit, and conforms believers into the likeness of Jesus Christ. Jesus Himself declared: “He that abideth in Me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit.” (John 15:5)
Knowing The Father’s Purposes.
The Father’s ultimate purpose has never been merely to give His people a doctrine to understand, but His own life to express. As believers behold Jesus Christ, abide in Him, and yield to the Holy Spirit, His compassion, humility, purity, obedience, patience, faithfulness, and love become increasingly visible because His life is finding unhindered expression.
This is the Father’s eternal purpose: that His own life should be seen in His people, His character revealed, and His Son made known to the world. The life received through Jesus Christ is far more than enough to sustain existence. It is the inexhaustible life of the eternal Father, limitless in its power, perfect in its sufficiency, and glorious in its transforming work. It surpasses every human conception because it is nothing less than the life of the Father Himself dwelling within those who believe and continually remain in Christ.
Every believer is therefore called to press beyond merely knowing this truth intellectually and to walk daily in its reality. The Father’s desire is that the life of His Son should be increasingly manifested in every thought, every word, and every action, so that Christ alone is seen and the Father alone is glorified. “He that hath the Son hath life.” (John 3:36) Those who truly abide in Jesus Christ will increasingly discover that His life is their life, His strength is their strength, and His sufficiency is their sufficiency.
