Living In The Authority Of The Name Of Jesus
Jesus declared: “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but My words shall not pass away.”Matthew 24:35. It is of enormous importance in the lives of every believer in Christ that we understand that the Words of Jesus Christ carry unchanging authority. That same authority has been entrusted to every believer because they belong to Him.
The world does not need another powerless Church, nor powerless believers. It is in desperate need of a people who are established in a personal revelation of who they are in Christ and of the greater reality of Christ within their lives.
Every believer is called to be established in the revelation of the authority vested in the Name of Jesus Christ. Jesus said: “All power is given unto Me in heaven and in earth. Go therefore...”Matthew 28:18–19
The believer is never called to rely upon our own intellectual ability, because intellectual knowledge alone is powerless. Revelation must be birthed within the heart and proven through obedience. Jesus declared: “And whatsoever you shall ask in My Name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you shall ask any thing in My Name, I will do it.”John 14:13–14
Called To Live In His Name.
Every believer has been entrusted with a divine charge: to live in the Name of Jesus Christ and to act upon the awesome authority and power of His Name. In doing so, the believer glorifies the Father, because the authority of the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth transcends every realm natural and spiritual, visible and invisible. The believer must understand that His Name stands supreme, unchanging, eternal, and victorious. It cannot fail, diminish, or weaken.
Jesus further declared: “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In My Name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues. They shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover.”Mark 16: 17-18. The authority exercised by the believer does not originate in the believer. It flows from the risen Christ, who possesses all authority and has commissioned His people to act in His Name.
Therefore, the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth must never be spoken as an empty religious expression or whispered without conviction. His Name is to be declared with the boldness of Heaven’s mandate. Jesus said: “He that believes on Me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater than these shall he do; because I go unto My Father.”John 14:12
Called To Lay Hold Of Revealed Truth.
Every believer must lay hold of the truth that the authority that once flowed through the hands of Jesus now operates through His Body on earth. This authority has not been given for human ambition or personal glory. It has been entrusted so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. Every time the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth is spoken in genuine faith, the believer is appealing to the authority of the risen Lord.
His Name is not a religious formula. It is the expression of faith in the Person who bears that Name. The power is not merely in the sound of the words. The authority rests in Jesus Himself, and faith lays hold of what He has accomplished and entrusted to His people. Jesus said: “If you shall ask any thing in My Name, I will do it.”John 14:14. Therefore, the question is not whether His Name still holds power it does. The question is whether the believer will walk worthy of the authority entrusted to them.
Standing In His Authority.
The believer must no longer shrink from darkness, because they stand in the authority of the One whose Name is above every name. They are not merely called to know about the Name of Jesus. They are called:
To live under its authority.
To minister through it.
To represent the One who bears it.
The believer must understand that there is no higher authority, no greater power, and no surer victory than in the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, the risen Son of God. The believer has not been left powerless. They have been entrusted with the most powerful Name in all creation.
The Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth is the believer’s legal right, spiritual weapon, and divine covering. It is the seal of Heaven upon the Church and the mark of sonship upon every believer. When the believer truly understands this authority, they will no longer live as though victory is uncertain. They will stand in what Christ has accomplished and exercise the authority He has entrusted to them.
For in the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth lies the fullness of redemption, the power of the Kingdom, and the glory of the risen Son of God. The authority of the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth is as real and powerful today as it was when He first spoke it.
Taking Their Place In His Name.
Every believer is called to rise and take their rightful place as an ambassador of Christ. They are to seek to ensure that every word they speak, every prayer they offer, and every act they perform is done in His Name and for His glory.
