Knowing The Father’s Pursuit For Our Lives.
Jesus declared, “He that hath seen me hath seen the Father.” (John 14:9). As we gain a greater revelation of who Jesus is, we should also obtain a better understanding of the Father’s pursuit of our lives as believers. The Father’s earnest longing, His heart’s desire, is that as we follow His Son, we should come to know Him and reflect His character before the world.
It is of tremendous importance to realise that as we behold Jesus ever before us, as we continue to abide in Him, and further yield ourselves to the leading of the Holy Spirit, then there should be manifested in and through us the reality of His compassion to right the wrong in this world.
The Father’s highest design for those who are in Christ is that we become vessels fit for His use; as we behold Jesus ever before our eyes, then there should be the same sense of humility, purity, obedience, and patience working through us. This is the Father’s eternal purpose: that His own life should be seen in His people, His character revealed, and His Son made known to the world.
Jesus made this bold and clear declaration of His Father: For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life in Himself, and has given Him authority to execute judgment also, because He is the Son of Man.
It must become a revelation in our lives that Jesus possesses the very life of the Father desired that all who are in Him, would experience this same inexhaustible life of the eternal Father. As the living Father hath sent Me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth Me, even he shall live by Me.” (John 6:57).
Jesus said, “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10). This divine life is more than sufficient to sustain the believer through every circumstance and situation that we may encounter. Every believer needs to understand that this life of the Father is:
Limitless in its power.
Perfect in its sufficiency.
Glorious in its transforming work.
It surpasses every human understanding because it is nothing less than the life of the Father Himself dwelling within those who believe and continually remain in Christ. Every believer is therefore called to press beyond merely knowing this truth through our mental capasity, to gaining this reality that we have the ability through the Holy Spirit to be able to walk daily in its reality. The Father desires that the life of His Son should be increasingly manifested in our every thought, every word, and our every action, so that Christ alone is seen and the Father alone is glorified.
