Jesus said: “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid.  Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.  Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”  Matthew 5:14- 16

These words are not a suggestion. They are a command. Everyone who claims to follow Jesus is called to live as He lived. We are not given the choice to hide our faith.

What God has given us in Jesus Christ must be seen in our daily lives. His life in us is meant to flow out through our words, our actions, and the way we treat others.

Good works do not save us, but they are the evidence of salvation. They show others who our Father is and bring glory to His name.

Jesus also said: “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” — John 8:12

And again:  “Yet a little while the light is with you. Walk while you have the light, lest darkness overtake you; he who walks in darkness does not know where he is going. While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become children of light.” — John 12:35-36

The light of Jesus now guides the steps of every believer. To follow Him is to walk in His light, to resist the pull of darkness, and to live as children of the light in a world that is still covered in shadows.

So the call of Jesus Christ is clear: walk in His light, live as children of light, and let your life shine so that others may glorify the Father.
