Blessed Are The Poor In Spirit

Matthew 5:3.
Jesus declared: Blessed are the poor in spirit, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

What does it mean to be poor in spirit, you may ask, and how can it be a blessing?

Being poor in spirit is a blessing because it brings you to the end of yourself and into the fullness of God.

When a person recognises their spiritual poverty, they stop clinging to pride, self-reliance, and open their hands to receive what only the Father can give to them through Jesus Christ..

Those who are poor in spirit are not left empty—they are filled with the riches of God’s grace, mercy, and eternal life.

The salvation that Jesus Christ has purchased for the entire race of humanity is the work of the grace of the Father.

If you are saved, you must remain poor in spirit, the believer does this through depending daily on the grace and strength of the Lord, never trusting in your own ability to stand.

But If you are unsaved, you must come to the place where you see your utter emptiness before God, or you will die clinging to your pride.

Until you see your actual need before God, the kingdom of heaven is closed to you.  Pride blinds you, deceives you, and keeps you bound to yourself—but humility opens the door to life.

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Will you keep grasping at your own worth, or will you humble yourself and enter into the eternal riches that God has promised?
