Building On The Sure Foundation Of Jesus’s Word.Part 3.
The Father Commands All to Hear Jesus Christ.
The Father’s voice was heralded in this world “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye Him.” Matthew 17:5 On the Mount of Transfiguration, when Moses and Elijah appeared beside Jesus, the voice of the Father cut through the cloud with unmistakable clarity and authority. Herein is an important revelation that we as believers need to understand:
● Moses represented the Law.
● Elijah represented the Prophets.
What we need to see is that both Moses and Elijah faded from sight just as the Father’s word was heard. There was only one person who drew the attention of the Father: Jesus. The command from the Father: “Hear you Him” reveals that Christ’s words are the final authority over all others. Therefore, whereas the Law and the Prophets prepared the way, Jesus Christ as the Son of Man is the fulfilment of them all. Jesus Christ’s Words Are Spirit and Life. Jesus declared: “The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” John 6:63
It is of great importance in our lives that we understand that there is no other person in Scripture who could ever claim such power for their words. Herein is a vital truth that must become a reality in our lives to understand that whereas the Prophets could only point to life, Jesus Christ came to give His life so that whoever would believe can receive this life from the Father.
In our lives as believers, we need to receive and retain the personal revelation that the Words of Jesus Christ create transformation, not merely information. Therefore, it is of tremendous importance that every believer receives three very significant truths that sets the Words of Jesus Christ apart from all others who spoke. When the Prophets spoke, hearts were stirred, but what a tremendous difference there was when Jesus Christ speaks:
- His Words brings life to those who are dead.
- His Words bring release to those bound up through demonic activity.
- And the Words of Jesus brings lost sinners into the Kingdom of God.
Jesus Christ did not only reveal truth; He was, and He is still, the Truth. “I am the way, the truth, and the life.”John 14:6. Therefore, any teaching that does not align with His character, His words, and His Spirit must be reexamined in the light of Jesus Christ Himself.
The Father’s command remains clear: “Hear ye Him.” Jesus Christ is not merely another voice among many; He is the Son to whom all must listen. Therefore, the believer must bring every teaching, every understanding, and every aspect of life under the authority of Christ’s words.
