Christ in You: A Light the World Cannot Ignore.
Jesus declared: You are the light of the world, a city that is set on a hill that cannot be hidden. Neither do men light a lamp, and put it under a bushel, but on a lampstand, and it gives light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:14-16
Word of Exhortation. “For I have set you as a light in the midst of darkness, life in the midst of death, hope in the midst of despair and health in the midst of sickness.
The will of the Father for those called by His name and who acknowledge the Lordship of Jesus over their lives are to live out their lives exhibiting the virtues of the Christ life that dwells within their inner spirit through the presence and power of the Holy Spirit. As Jesus was, so too are all those who are believers in Christ; as disciples of the Lord, we are to follow after Jesus, who has set the benchmark and living example for our lives. Jesus Himself declared that He was the light of the world.
If the life of Christ is in our reborn spirit, then the Holy Spirit who indwells us should emanate the life of the Father through our lives. Therefore, we are to be life in the midst of death, light in the midst of darkness, hope in the midst of despair. This should be evident because of the same Holy Ghost anointing being present in us.
This is an important revelation that we have to embrace,for just as Jesus brought hope to spring up when He walked and ministered in this world, manifesting His presence to bear amongst the multitudes, so too are every believer called to minister hope to those in despair and minister healing to the sick.
The thought that keeps reverberating in my spirit is a word that the Holy Spirit dropped into my understanding: not only am I in Christ, but much more importantly, He is in my life, and He went further to say that whatsoever Jesus has spoken concerning my life, I am able to have the perfect will of the Father wrought through my life. If Jesus said I can, then I can.
As believers, we must gain the revelation that the same Holy Ghost anointing that was in and upon Jesus while He ministered in this world now resides within our regenerated human spirit, and the same words of power.
The attitude of Jesus when He declared that He was under the authority of the Father must also be firmly fixed into our understanding. There has been given to us the same authority to function as the early church received from Jesus Himself.
For the Son of Man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the doorkeeper to watch. Mark 13: 34.
Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Luke 10: 19.
And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease. Matthew 10: 1.
It is therefore essential that we understand our existence on this earth is to be a channel through which the power of Christ’s life can flow in and through lives to minister the will and purposes of the Father. He wants our lives to be a source of life to others. A living witness is a life that is like a torch that gives light to others.
