The Father Gave Commandments To Jesus.

I am the Good Shepherd, and I know My sheep, and I am known of Mine. As the Father knows Me, even so, I know the Father: and I lay down My life for the sheep. And other sheep I have, who are not of this fold: these also I must bring, and they shall hear My voice, and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd. Therefore does My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life, that I might take it again. No man takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have the power to lay it down, and I have the power to take it again. This commandment have I received of My Father. John 10; 14-18.

Jesus cried and said, He that believes on Me, believes not on Me, but on the Father that sent Me. And he that sees Me sees Him that sent Me. I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believes on Me should not abide in darkness. And if any man hears My words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. He that rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has one that judges him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. For I have not spoken of Myself; but the Father Who sent Me, He gave Me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. And I know that His commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto Me, so I speak. John 12;44-50.

Then said Jesus unto them, When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then shall you know that I am He and that I do nothing of Myself; but as My Father has taught Me, I speak these things. And He that sent Me is with Me: the Father has not left Me alone; for I do always those things that please Him. John 8; 28-29

This is really important, you have to know this:

  • Jesus Christ, the Son of God, did not come to speak or act on His own initiative. Everything He said, everything He did—even the laying down of His life—was in perfect obedience to the will of the Father who sent Him.

  • Jesus was not self-appointed, self-directed, or self-driven. He was sent, taught, and commanded by the Father. And He obeyed fully.

  • The Father gave Jesus the commandment to lay down His life—and Jesus obeyed, not under compulsion, but willingly, knowing the purpose, the power, and the promise. He said, “This commandment have I received of My Father.” His obedience was perfect, His love complete, and His submission total.

  • The words Jesus spoke were not His own. Every truth, every rebuke, every offer of salvation, every warning of judgment came from the Father. He said, “Whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto Me, so I speak.” To reject His words is to reject the very voice of God. To believe His words is to receive life everlasting.

Let every believer take heed:  To follow Jesus is to walk in the will of the Father. To reject His words is to stand under judgment.  To receive His words is to receive eternal life. He spoke only what the Father commanded.  Let us hear Him—and obey.
