Loving God Is More Than Words.
“By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” (John 13:35). This is a vital truth in the life of every believer. Here, Jesus makes a clear declaration in emphasising the essential aspect of love being a distinguishing identification in the lives of all those who profess to be His followers
Jesus is declaring that this quality of love, the love of the Father, is never to be restricted to words alone. It is never meant to remain hidden within the heart, but it must be visible and tangible.
The responsibility of every professing believer is to express the life of the Father, which involves exhibiting His love through our attitudes and deeds. The love of Christ should be evident in the way believers treat one another and those around them. Jesus also said, “If you love Me, keep My commandments.” (John 14:15).
These words reveal that love for Christ always requires action. Genuine discipleship is not simply speaking about love or professing faith; it is demonstrated by obeying Jesus’ teaching, extending mercy, forgiving others, serving with humility, and walking in His ways day by day. Obedience is the outward evidence of a heart that truly loves the Lord.
Jesus taught that love must be active. Genuine faith is revealed by living out His commandments and expressing His love in practical, sacrificial, and tangible ways toward others. This is how the world recognises those who truly belong to Him.
