Jesus Came To Do Father’s Will.

And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: whoever comes to Me shall never hunger; and he that believes on Me shall never thirst.  But I said unto you, That you also have seen Me, and believe not.  All that the Father gives Me shall come to Me, and they that comes to Me I will in no wise cast out.  For I came down from heaven, not to do Mine own will, but the will of Him that sent Me.  John 6:35-38.

Believing In Jesus Is The Father’s Will.

And this is the Father’s will Who has sent Me, that of all He has given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.  And this is the will of the Father that sent Me, that every one who sees the Son, and believes on Him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day. John 6:39-40.

Jesus Acknowledges Those Who Will Believe In Him.

Then His brothers and His mother came, and standing outside they sent to Him, calling Him. And a multitude was sitting around Him; and they said to Jesus, “Look, Your mother and Your brothers are outside seeking You.” But Jesus answered them, saying, “Who is My mother, or My brothers?”  and Jesus said, “Here are My mother and My brothers! For whoever does God’s will are My brother, My sister and mother.” Mark 3 : 30-35.

Father’s Will Is To Be A Hearer And Doer Of His Word.

Then, His mother and brothers came to Him and could not approach Jesus because of the crowd. And it was told Jesus by some, who said, “Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside, desiring to see You.” But Jesus answered and said to them, “My mother and My brothers are these who hear the word of God and do it.” Luke 8 : 19-21.

The Reward Given To Those That Do The Will Of God.

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ Matthew 7:21-23.

This is really important, you have to know this:

  • Jesus did not come to do His own will. He came to do the will of the Father. And the Father’s will is this:  Believe in His Son. Hear His words. Do what He says.

  • This is not mere religion. It is not a performance. It is not doing impressive things in His name while ignoring His voice. It is relationship with the Son, rooted in obedience to the Father.

  • The one who comes to Jesus will never be cast out.

  • The one who sees and believes in the Son will be raised up.

  • The one who hears God’s word and does it is counted as family—a brother, a sister, a mother to Christ Himself.

  • The one who does the Father’s will—not just saying “Lord” but living under His Lordship—will enter the Kingdom.

Let this be clear: the will of the Father is not hidden. It is revealed in the Son.  And the Son is calling. Come to Him. Believe in Him. Remain in Him. Obey Him.  This is the path of life. This is the family of God. And this is the will of the Father—that you may have everlasting life.
