The Giving Of Alms In Secret.

“Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise, you have no reward from your Father in heaven. Therefore, when you do a charitable deed, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory from men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, that your charitable deed may be in secret, and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly. Matthew 6:1-4.

Pray In The Secret Place.

“And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words. Matthew 6: 5-8.

Fast In Secret.

“Moreover, when you fast, do not be like the hypocrites, with a sad countenance. For they disfigure their faces that they may appear to men to be fasting. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, so that you do not appear to men to be fasting, but to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. Matthew 6:15-18.

This is really important, you have to know this:

  • The Lord Jesus Christ does not call His disciples to impress men, but to walk with God in sincerity and truth.

  • He exposes the emptiness of religious display and invites us into the sacredness of the secret place—where motives are pure, where intimacy with the Father is cultivated, and where reward comes from heaven, not from human hands.

  • Those who give to be seen, pray to be heard by men, or fast to appear spiritual have already received all the reward they will ever get—the fleeting admiration of others.

  • But those who seek only the eyes of the Father, who is in the secret place, are known by Him, loved by Him, and rewarded by Him.

  • The Father is not distant. He is near—in the unseen. He watches not only actions but the heart that gives, the heart that prays, the heart that fasts. What we do in secret reveals whom we truly live for. Jesus calls His followers to die to the praise of men and live for the pleasure of God.

Do not live for the crowd. Do not seek attention. Do not perform righteousness. Live hidden. Give secretly. Pray privately. Fast quietly. And your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you openly.Let the unseen devotion of your life be a fragrant offering to your unseen yet ever-present Father. Let His eyes alone matter.
