The Name That Carries Heaven’s Authority.

Jesus declared, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth” (Matthew 28:18). The Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth carries divine authority. It is not merely a name to be spoken; it is the Name above every name, carrying the authority of the One to whom all authority has been given.

Therefore, when believers proclaim the name of Jesus Christ in genuine faith and submission to Him, it brings the authority of heaven into situations where darkness has sought to prevail. The disciples discovered this authority when they returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.” Jesus answered, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven” (Luke 10:17–18).

The early Church understood that the power was not in their human ability, nor through their natural endeavour, but in the Name of Jesus. When Peter declared to the lame man, “In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk” (Acts 3:6), the Name produced the miraculous deliverance that human strength could never ever accomplish.

As believers, we must never reduce the Name of Jesus to just a religious phrase that is added to the end of a prayer. His Name represents His person, His authority, His victory, and His Lordship. Jesus said, “Whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son” (John 14:13).

The exercising of the use of the name of Jesus Christ is therefore not a formula for getting what people want; it is an invitation to act, pray, and minister under His authority and for the glory of the Father. The question is not simply whether believers know the Name of Jesus, but whether they have embraced the authority of the One whose Name they bear.

“Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow”. As believers, we must progress in our knowledge, our understanding and our authority to proclaim and own the name of Jesus Christ and gain the living revelation that:

  • Darkness does not have the final word.
  • Fear does not have the final word.
  • The enemy does not have the final word. Jesus does.

The Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth is not a name to admire from a distance; it is the Name to believe, honour, proclaim, and live under.
