All Through Jesus, Never Of Us.
This establishes the foundation: everything originates in Jesus, is accomplished through Jesus, and must bring glory to Jesus. Jesus has declared: “that he that believes on Me, the works that I do shall he do also, and greater than these shall he do, because I go unto My Father” (John 14:12).
As believers, our authority to function is not self-derived, nor does it originate in anything of our human ability. This authority has been delegated to believers by Jesus Christ, and it must be exercised through faith in Him and obedience to His Word. Jesus declared, “If you shall ask anything in My Name, I will do it” (John 14:14).
This is important: the exercising of the Name of Jesus Christ must never be used as a formula, nor as a religious expression. When believers speak the Name of Jesus Christ, it is the representation of the Person, authority, power, and Lordship of Jesus Christ.
Here is a tremendous truth that must never be taken for granted: the power of the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth does not lie in the one who speaks, the power is in the one who we are to represent, Jesus Christ of Nazareth carries the authority and all power, might and dominion, both in the past and now through into and beyond eternity.
When believers speak the name of Jesus Christ, it is the representation of the Person, authority, power, and Lordship of Jesus Christ. The believer must always be under the authority of the One who has been given “a name which is above every name” Therefore, the issue is not whether we possess sufficient ability; the question is whether we are submitted to the One whose Name we carry:
Everything flows from Him.
Through Him.
And for His Glory.
This is important: As believers, we are never to rely on our own strength, nor minister through our own ability; we stand in Christ, and act under the authority of Jesus, and trust Him to accomplish what He has commissioned.
