And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. John 3:14-17.

Jesus, the One Who Came From Above.

Jesus is the One who came from above. He did not rise out of human reasoning, tradition, or religious effort. He descended from Heaven, sent by the Father, bearing divine authority and eternal life. John the Baptist testified that Jesus spoke only the words of God, because the Father gave Him the Holy Spirit without measure.

He who comes from above is above all; he who is of the earth is earthly and speaks of the earth. He who comes from heaven is above all. And what He has seen and heard, that He testifies; and no one receives His testimony. He who has received His testimony has certified that God is true. For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God does not give the Spirit by measure.

The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into His hand. He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.John 3:31-36.

Every prophet before Jesus spoke, received revelation in part. But Jesus as the Son of Man stood alone, fully entrusted with the Holy Spirit in fullness, speaking not fragments of truth but the very voice of the Father without limitation.

Because Jesus possessed the Holy Spirit without measure, His words were not suggestions or opinions shaped by culture or circumstance. They were the absolute truth, issuing directly from the heart of the Father.

When the people heard Jesus speak, they were hearing the Father speak. Therefore, those who rejected the Son were to reject Almighty God Himself. Every encounter with His word demands a response. Jesus thus declared:  He who receives you receives Me, and he who receives Me receives the One who sent Me.

John the Baptist further declared that the Father loves the Son and has placed all things into His hand (John 3:35).

Jesus did not earn authority through obedience alone; it was bestowed upon Him by an eternal relationship. What one believes about Jesus determines not only one’s present position but one’s eternal destiny.

Believing the Son and Possessing Eternal Life.

John then spoke words that divide humanity with sobering clarity: “He who believes in the Son has everlasting life” (John 3:36). This declaration is present tense. Eternal life is not merely a future promise reserved for the grave; it is a present possession granted to those who believe in Him now. This life is not merely endless existence, but the very life of the Father imparted to the believer.

To believe in Jesus Christ is to entrust oneself fully to His word, to receive His testimony as true, and to rest the weight of one’s soul upon what He has spoken. Those who believe in Him receive a life that death cannot extinguish.

The Warning of Unbelief.

Yet Scripture does not soften the warning that follows. “He who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him” (John 3:36).

Outside of Jesus Christ, there is no remaining source of salvation. To refuse Him is to remain under judgment, not because the Father is unwilling to save, but because the only means of salvation has been despised.

Jesus’ Own Witness Concerning Eternal Life.

Jesus Christ Himself confirmed this truth with unmistakable clarity: “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life” (John 6:47).

This is so important to understand the words of Jesus Christ, separates light from darkness and truth from deception. Those who will receive His word pass from death into life. Those who reject it remain in their sins, by refusing to believe and embrace the truth.

The Written Testimony of the Gospel.

“These are written, that you might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you might have life through His name” (John 20:31).

The message is not hidden; it has never been beyond the capabilities of humanity to understand. All that is required is to believe it, receive it and live continuously in it.Therefore belief leads to life, but rejection leads to condemnation. Forgiveness, cleansing, and restored fellowship with Almighty God are found only in the Son.

The Final Consequence of Rejecting the Son.

Jesus warned with solemn authority, “If you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins” (John 8:24). These words were not spoken to provoke debate, but to awaken souls. To turn from the Light is to choose darkness.

To reject the Son is to remain separated from Almighty God forever. Mercy stands open now, but the door will not remain open indefinitely. Therefore Jesus urged, “Strive to enter through the narrow gate(Luke 13:24), revealing that many would delay belief until the opportunity had passed.

Salvation is received not through merely believing some facts about Jesus Christ, but by believing His words, submitting to His authority, and obeying His voice.

Jesus Himself exposed empty confession when He asked, “Why do you call Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do the things which I say?” (Luke 6:46). True belief is revealed in obedience. Faith that does not submit is not faith at all.

Therefore, in conclusion, the Father has placed all things into Jesus Christ’s hands. Eternity rests upon believing Him. To believe Jesus is to live; to reject Him is to perish. There is no middle ground, no neutral position, and no alternate path to eternal life.

His words remain, unchanged and unyielding, calling every soul to repentance and faith. And as His life now abides within those who follow Him, they also carry the words of eternal life. They are sent to speak His truth without compromise to a world still standing at the crossroads of belief.

The call is urgent, the testimony is clear. To believe in and receive Jesus Christ is life everlasting, but to refuse Him is eternal loss. Let every heart hear, believe, and live.
