Having The Right Priority.

Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust corrupts, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Matthew 6 : 19-21.

No Awareness Of Eternity.

And Jesus spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully: And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room wherein to store my fruits? And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater, and there I will store all my fruits and my goods. And I will say to my soul, Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take then your ease, eat, drink, and be merry.

The Importance Of Being Rich Towards The Father.

But God said unto him, you fool, this night your soul shall be required of you: then whose shall those things be, which you have provided? So is he that lays up treasure for himself, but is not rich toward God. Luke 12 : 16-21.

This is really important, you have to know this:

  • The man who stored up treasure for himself but was not rich toward God died a fool.

  • Not because he was rich, but because he was blind.

  • Blind to eternity. Blind to the truth that his soul did not belong to him. Blind to the Father who gave him life and would one day require it back.

  • This is the truth: Everything on earth will be taken from you or you will be taken from it.

  •  So lay up treasure in heaven. Live with eternity in view. Be rich toward the Father. Anything less is foolishness, and Jesus said so.

Jesus said Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. If your heart is wrapped around what you cannot keep, you will lose everything, including your soul.
